How have you seen comedy change in the past 30 years? Which, hey, the more comedy the merrier.

So you see it generally as positives — that people starting out like you were in 89, they'll have more opportunities to get themselves out there. You have so many more ways to get yourself out there, so many different ways of creating your own world.

And your goals were different. That was the big, big goal. Everyone has their own thing. When you did get started, you made it as a stand up. Was that the direction you wanted to be headed in? Or did it sort of just develop as you were going?

And you know, I was hitting it pretty hard in the late 90s. And by , I had a different feeling and outlook on the industry, and where I was headed towards life in general. And I put a serious screech on the brakes. I started a family, and kind of walked away and wanted to start with my roots, which was stand-up comedy. Or the way that the media portrays you. This is nothing for the real me. I was definitely heading there. But we would have a lot of lengthy talks in the past. And many times we were on the same level, in conversation about industry and life in general.

And our heightened awareness of it all was pretty much on the same playing field. Being a father has changed my life, my views, and my attitude towards life and my comedy in general. I have a major responsibility that I take very seriously. And it makes me work harder on stage and off. Speaking of children, do your daughters ever give you ideas for jokes? My daughters are actually funnier than me and continually encourage my new material!

What is the routine you'll be performing at Stand Up Live all about? I will be recapping some big NON-political topics that happened this year. The rest is comedy about my wife of 20 years, my elderly parents, and my daughters. What do you have planned for the future?
