How many heat cycles r888

I was going to get R's Now I'm going to rethink this. R, RA1, NT01 all use the same rubber compound. Carcas is different. NT01's were best. I always ran my fastest laps as the tires corded unless I'd grossly overheated them turn very blue. NT01s need far less camber to be effective than the RA1s. Originally Posted by admranger. Posted this in the "tire" section, but figured this might be a better spot with more knowledge.

I have about 14 cycles on one set, and I am wondering if they are scrap material at this point. My last run session on track, the conditions were different with lower track temps and full shade, and I felt like I was sliding quite a bit more. My confusion comes from my relative lack of experience. Was it the track or tires? Couldn't possibly be the driver.

So funny! Run the things until they cord. There will be no more than a second difference at VIR for example between fresh ones and those with 20 cycles on them. If they get "slippery" then you will learn more. IF you are doing time trials, maybe you rotate in a fresher set for maximum performance in a timed event.

I partially agree. There is no reason not to run them until the cords as they are consistent and usable, however, I would say that there is more than a 1 second per lap drop off.

At three to four sessions per day, you are basically talking about 2 weekends of use. Guy must have removed his post It depends on how hard the car is driven, how heavy, etc. Originally posted by robburgoon View Post. They are pretty good all the way to the cord. I think the grip tapers off some, but it won't fall off a cliff like the R Most people happily run the NTs right to the cord without any kind of shave.

They do get a little slower, but I haven't been able to pin down when exactly that happens. The deposed former Sheriff of trackHQ.
